Architectural Detailing

The objective was to seamlessly integrate bespoke skirting, architrave, and shelving elements that would resonate with the apartment’s Art Deco-inspired aesthetic.

The Challenge

The design needed to reflect the building’s stylised glamour, exceptional craftsmanship, and geometric precision, while maintaining a refined sense of functional elegance. Additionally, the interior decoration, managed through our sister company Pinnacle Building, required a harmonious blend of vintage and contemporary details to create an inviting space with a natural flow that radiates warmth.

The Solution

To address these challenges, custom skirting and architrave profiles were meticulously crafted, reflecting the soft curves and rounded silhouettes characteristic of the Art Deco period. Bespoke shelving units were crafted to serve both functional and aesthetic purposes, providing display spaces that complemented the apartment’s curated collection of unique antique pieces.

The existing flooring was lightened to suit the updated aesthetic, blending seamlessly with the new design direction. High-quality, custom-made materials were used throughout to ensure a flawless finish and enduring craftsmanship.

Pinnacle Building oversaw the interior decoration, thoughtfully layering textured wall finishes and selecting statement vintage items – such as a 1936 maple wood grand piano and a 300kg 19th-century marble urn, to anchor the design in history and artisanal detail.

The Result

The completed apartment showcases a masterful blend of influences with a contemporary twist. The bespoke skirting, architrave, and shelving seamlessly integrate with the overall design, enhancing the apartment’s storied elegance. The interior decoration achieves a gallery-like atmosphere, where each element contributes to a cohesive narrative of refined luxury and historical homage.

Fabric-Lined Wardrobes

In refurbishing this remarkable triplex apartment in the heart of Mayfair, the design brief called for bespoke wardrobe solutions that would offer more than storage.

The Challenge

In the comprehensive restoration of a distinguished triplex apartment at 60 Curzon Street in London’s Mayfair district — a location renowned for its Art Déco heritage. The objective was to design bespoke wardrobe solutions that seamlessly blended functionality with the opulent aesthetics of the era. The challenge lay in crafting storage that not only served its practical purpose but also resonated with the apartment’s overarching design narrative, characterised by a harmonious fusion of historical elegance and contemporary luxury.

The Solution

Drawing inspiration from the rich materiality and decorative elements emblematic of the era, a series of custom wardrobes were meticulously designed with interiors lined in sumptuous, textured fabrics. This choice evoked the tactile opulence of the period while providing a protective environment for garments. Complementing the fabric interiors, hand-finished brass handles and trim were incorporated, their warm, golden tones echoing the luxurious metal accents prevalent in the design. The brass elements were carefully patinated to achieve a timeless elegance, ensuring they harmonised with other design features within the residence.

The Result

The completed wardrobes stand as a testament to the successful integration of Art Déco-inspired design principles within a contemporary living space. Their fabric-lined interiors and brass detailing not only fulfil functional storage needs but also contribute to the apartment’s overall ambiance of refined sophistication. This thoughtful fusion of form and function reflects the residence’s commitment to honouring its historical context while embracing modern luxury, resulting in a living environment that is both evocative and timeless.

Feature Ceiling

In the heart of London’s prestigious Mayfair district, a remarkable triplex apartment underwent a comprehensive restoration to blend historical elegance with contemporary luxury. A centrepiece of this transformation was the creation of a bespoke brass and mirror installation, designed to enhance the apartment’s aesthetic appeal and cultivated sophistication.

The Challenge

This project required meticulous attention to detail to ensure that the interior designer’s vision was fully realised – seamlessly blending classic architectural elements with contemporary sophistication, while maintaining the integrity of the building’s historic character.

The Solution

To ensure the highest level of precision and client satisfaction, we provided our client with a curated selection of samples throughout the design process. This allowed for careful evaluation of finishes, particularly to guarantee accurate colour matching between the bespoke brass elements and surrounding materials. By involving the client at this stage, we were able to achieve a cohesive and harmonious final result that aligned perfectly with their vision.

The brass used in this installation was carefully hand-tinted to achieve the exact tone and depth of finish envisioned for the space. This artisanal process allowed for a level of nuance and character that simply isn’t possible with off-the-shelf materials. The result is a rich, warm patina that adds depth and sophistication, perfectly complementing the mirror elements and surrounding finishes.

The Result

As always with our projects at Pinnacle, precision is paramount. In this particular case, the intricate construction of the ceiling elements meant that every component had to be measured and executed to the millimetre to ensure a flawless fit for the mirror finish. There was no margin for error—but thanks to our meticulous planning and expert craftsmanship, everything aligned perfectly.

Oak Handrail On Stone Staircase

Pinnacle’s superior workmanship at this private residential home is represented in the creation of a stunning custom circular staircase. A perfect combination of oak, metal, and stone reflects elegance, functionality, and modern design in this latest project.

The Challenge

Pinnacle was commissioned to design and install a bespoke circular handrail for a stone staircase in a high-end residential development. The staircase was to feature a cut-string design made from stone, which presented a significant technical challenge in both precision and aesthetics.

The design also required the integration of 16mm metal spindles, with decorative casts on every other spindle, adding a touch of elegance to the overall structure. Additionally, a continuous oak handrail had to be installed over a metal plate, demanding an exact fit to maintain both the structural integrity and the sophisticated look of the staircase.

This complex project required innovative technology and craftsmanship to meet the high expectations of the client.

The Solution

To ensure perfect alignment and a seamless finish, Pinnacle utilised advanced laser scanning technology to measure the top of the metal plate. The data collected from the laser scan was then imported into our staircase software, allowing us to design a continuous oak handrail that would fit flawlessly over the metal structure.

This approach ensured that the handrail followed the circular curve of the staircase exactly, maintaining the design’s smooth, elegant flow.

The metal spindles, each 16mm in diameter, were crafted with meticulous attention to detail, with decorative casts added to every other spindle to elevate the aesthetic of the staircase.

The spindles were securely integrated into the stone design, combining durability with visual appeal. The blend of materials – stone, metal, and oak, required close collaboration between our design and installation teams to ensure each element complemented the others seamlessly.

The Result

The finished staircase is a breathtaking example of craftsmanship and precision engineering. The smooth, continuous oak handrail perfectly matches the curvature of the circular stone staircase, while the metal spindles with decorative casts add an elegant contrast to the natural stone.

The use of laser scanning technology ensured an exact fit, resulting in a flawless installation that not only enhances the functionality of the space but also creates a striking architectural feature.

The client was delighted with the outcome, and the staircase has become a key design element in the property, embodying Pinnacle’s commitment to quality, innovation, and diligence.

This project stands as a testament to Pinnacle’s ability to deliver bespoke, high-end solutions that exceed client expectations.
